Its paying off.....

Monday morning only means one thing to me now! It used to mean sleeping in, recovering from the weekend, doing nothing much at all. Well now I am up and ready to go by 8am and out the door for the gym by 8:30! Such a change. Its such a great way to start the week!

Today my personal trainer took my body measurements again, first time since starting which was about 5 weeks ago. I am down, nearly 3% in total body fat and have lost 4in from my waist!!! WHOOOO HOOOO! I felt like doing a dance, although I am sure the goofy smile on my face was enough to say it all! I am so excited that all the pain has been doing something. This has given me great motivation to keep going, knowing that its all making a difference!

Pain can be good....right?

As most of you know I have been seeing a Personal Trainer at 24hr fitness....and love it!!! Well most of the time....ha! Its hard work and my body gets pushed hard, harder than I would ever be on it. My PT takes me way past my comfort zone and into the burning, painful, tear inducing zone! But its all good. I still go twice a week and I really feel such a difference in so many areas. While I have not lost the pounds I was hoping to at this stage, I am well and truly looking and feeling better. I have an energy that I have not had in years, I feel more able to keep up with the energy levels of my boys and to top it off....I have dropped a dress size!!!

Right now, I am feeling muscles I have not used in a long time. I have been home for 3hrs since my work out and I am in pain....My butt and my arms, my legs...OK everywhere is talking to me! But its all good!

Pain....
Thanks to my Personal trainer, I am in PAIN!!!
My legs feel like I have just run a marathon and then some. I love the fact that I have someone pushing me and getting me out of my comfort zone when it comes to my fitness.
But I want to cry....poor me, sob, sob!
Anyway, enough of my whining, I am looking forward to my regular Monday work out, hopefully my legs will be up for it, I swear I am using muscles I have never used before!

Lifestyle change....
So I am now working with a personal trainer to get fit and healthy. Now all I need is a chef to cook me nutritious food!
Why is it that when you try and stay on the straight and narrow with good choices ie. healthy and low calorie food. McDonald's always sounds sooo good!!!

Today after running a few errands around the place, we were pretty pressed for time. So McDonald's drive through for lunch it was.....grrr! I can be strong! I can be strong! I'll just get a small snack wrap and NO FRIES!

Well, thanks Harry for being so generous in sharing! "Mommy, here you go I've had enough, you can have the rest" what is one to do when there are fries and nuggets just sitting on the seat next to her, saying "eat me!" OK so the diet was blown today.

I talked to the boys about making changes in our lives, this will mean no McDonald's (except for special occasions) I explained to them that it was not good food and that we need to make healthier choices for our bodies. Harry totally got it and said "is that why you go to the gym?"

Anyway, we got home and Harry too wanted to "make some better changes for his body" he said. He wants to have a strong and healthy body too.....

Harry you make me laugh, all change is good....

My little superhero!

First time with a personal trainer!

And it was amazing!!!! I am now feeling so motivated to get in to shape. Aaron my PT is just wonderful, he could tell from our first session what my bodies weaknesses and strengths are and the particular needs for problem areas.

It was a little scary at first, he did have a tape measure in his hand! So he measured me up and pinched my fat to take measurements for my BMI...couldn't wait for that part to be over with! Then I had to get on the scales...time of truth! Ha did you think I was going to post that here, not a chance! The scales were out in the open for all to see, got to love that....Not!

Along with the workout sessions they are also providing a nutrition plan which gives me a great guide for my daily calorie intake. Also he can monitor how I am doing from a website that I keep up with daily, with what I eat and calories burned. I am so excited to be doing this and I already feel a difference mentally...yay I'm doing this for me!!!

Did I also mention they have a kids club and its unlimited....whooo hooo!

Just Another Day in the crazy, busy life of a soccer mom!

Today was another beautiful summer day. The boys were still asleep and I actually got a shower before they woke....Aaaaaa! What a great start to the day.

Thomas was off to Soccer camp for his second last day and I had a fun morning with Harry all planned. We arrived at Soccer and Thomas was actually excited to be there. He ran down to the field bypassing the candy machines, which was a first! screaming soccer, soccer! Maybe he won't cry when I leave him today. But that was not to be! He screamed again, but thank goodness not for long, he really is getting better and the separation anxiety is lessening. He really does have a fun time and loves soccer with his little bud Noah!

Now for 2 hrs of special Harry time. I planned on spending our time together getting him enrolled in Karate and visiting a number of Taekwondo schools.

He's so excited and has talked about this for weeks now. After weeks of research online I made a list of all the local places to visit. We arrive and one after another all the places we planned to visit were closed...bad timing or what! I really wanted Harry to watch the kids in class all dressed in their cool white uniforms and to get a feel for it, to see if it's something he really wants to do. Disappointed, we will have to do this another time. He's still excited for his Karate!

Next we headed to 24hr fitness to get mommy motivated for working out....hahaha!
Finally, I bit the bullet and spoke with a personal trainer to help me with my motivation and help kick my butt. Just what I need, a drill Sergeant! We talked about my goals and how I would achieve it with his help. It was great and can not wait to get my "Get fit" (aka, loose the wobbly bits) program underway. I am very excited!

Dave has been working crazy hours....CRAZY!!!! I really should be saying Dave...Who? (sorry honey if your reading this, I miss you!) Anyway, work is stressful at the moment, with deadlines, meetings...etc, etc! So its been a little rough this week with the boys and the house. But Dave and I do get sometime in the late evenings, its usually watching Le tour De France together. We love it and try and watch it together every year. We hope to one day to see it for real...fingers crossed that will be another blog in years to come, watch out for that one!

Anyway, that was our day today. Its nice to end it at home, in our beautiful backyard enjoying the weather and each others company....We can do so much to stay busy, but it really is the simple things I love the most.
