Ocean Shores, Sand Dollars & Drift Wood.....

May 08 we took a family road trip to Ocean Shores. It was so refreshing and peaceful. I just love the sound of the ocean and the smell of the salt. The boys had a ball playing in the sand and building forts out of piles of smooth gray drift wood that lay scattered all over the beach. Although nothing compares to the pristine yellow sand beaches of Sydney, the rugged Washington state coast offers a different beauty and experience. Rain boots and warm coats! Not the normal attire for a Aussie girl to wear to the beach...lol!

It was a wonderful way to spend the weekend. With life being so busy lately it was nice to be in the same place, with no distractions and no Internet! We just sat on the beach and did nothing....nothing except watch the boys play, oh and watch Thomas take a dip in the freezing water, it was quite the shock to him and to us! Back to the car for mommy and Thomas, so Daddy and Harry went on a little adventure through the sand dunes.

While Thomas warmed up in the car, Harry and Dave found a beautiful old row of pylons. They also came across a few crabs, lots of shells (which Harry was determined to collect in his bucket and bring home the lot) and a number of other wonders that got Harry curious about nature.

It was such a peaceful get away, just what we needed to feel rejuvenated. I can not wait to go back there and do nothing again... I am so in love with my sweet, sweet family!
