Make a Splash!
Today reached a scorching 92 here in Seattle, that is HOT!
What to do on such a hot day....hmmm?

Fill the pool with ice cold water from the tap and watch the boys squeal as they get wet! So much fun to watch. I'm sure it was refreshing though, they had a ball!

Here are some pics of the boys enjoying the refreshingly cool water....
Warning: rated N - for nudie boy! most were to N rated to post

The House & Garden Club

Starting from top left going clockwise, Samantha, Tonia, Sarah, Heather and Jill

Today was the most perfect summer day! The sun was out. A refreshing cool breeze blew and rustled the leaves on the wisteria and Jasmine vines. The kids played well....mostly =)
The girls had a fun time of talking House & Garden, drinking, eating and more talking!
It was a wonderful way to spend the morning.

This was our first get together for the Club and can not wait to do it again. Its such a fun group of friends and we all love to garden. It was great to chat about our own gardens, get tips, ask advise and share experiences.

Next time we will take a trip to a nursery, I can't wait!

Seattle Slugs....
Check out this little beauty!

Besides Planes, Rain and Coffee something else that Seattle seems to do really well is...slugs!

They are huge! If you visit a souvenir shop here in town you will find all sorts of slug merchandise. I didn't really understand the slug thing here at first, until one day I finally saw a Seattle slug....Yikes!
On our way out the door on Sunday Harry and Thomas got quite a kick out of finding a huge slug on our driveway. This one is just a baby, I have seen them triple the size of this....Crikey!
Harry was quick to ask "mommy can we keep him as a pet?" Well you can guess my answer to that...NO, Icky!
They decided to try and move him over to the garden so we wouldn't run over him in the car.

BBQ....Yum!

Grandma and Grandpa helped us enjoy our first BBQ with our new grill and outdoor set while they were here.
It was the most perfect night, 7pm and it was a whopping...84deg! The sun out, a beautiful cool breeze blowing, shade from the wisteria and the smell of Meat grilling. It doesn't get much more relaxing after a hot summers day! Oh, and did I mention the wonderful iced wine....mmm!
The kids played in the pool and took great pleasure in trying to splash Daddy while grilling. Only if every night could be this easy.
We started out with the Bruschetta that Harry and Grandma had made, it was delicious!!! Thanks Harry you are quite the little chef. It was then followed with Rib eyes cooked perfectly, Cesar Salad with sundried tomatoes and bacon, grilled red peppers and crusty bread!
The best part was taking our times, we had no where to be and nothing else to do so we just sat, ate, drank and talked for hours!!! What a great summer night!

Summertime Fun in the backyard...

Here are some pics from the weekend, man it was HOT!!!

Dave enjoying the shade before setting up the pool for the second time...thanks Thomas!
The boys were so excited to get wet in their new swimming pool. Dave spent a good hour blowing it up and filling it with water. Only to have Thomas come along and throw a handful of soil from my lavender garden into the pool....grrrr! It was actually quite funny to see Dave's response, he turned the hose on Thomas and soaked him from head to toe, I guess he won't do that again! We emptied and cleaned the pool. It took sometime to get that thing filled! But finally the boys could jump in...hurray!!!

Harry was the first in the pool...like a fish in water!

The boys had a ball playing outside. There was a beautiful breeze, the back yard is on a ridge that looks out to the Olympics, its so wonderful! Thomas finally got in the pool and just loved splashing!!! We bought him a pool noodle which didn't last long as it became a great bat to hit his brother with...of cause!
We love our backyard it really was one of the big selling points with the house. I imagined us playing out the back in summer when we were going through the buying process and now here we are....I feel totally blessed!

I love these photos, the boys were dancing in their pool singing some little song they made up...too cute!

You know summer is here when.....

You wake up at 5:30am to the sun streaming in your window and love it!
The kids constantly smell of coconut suncream!
You're out of breath from blowing up the kiddie pool!
At the store you buy 6 huge cans of pineapple juice to go with your Malibu!
The freezer is stocked full of Popsicles!
Shoes are not required!
You love getting sprayed by the sprinkler or splashed by the kids!
The farmers tan returns...hehehe!
Looking for a parking spot, you choose shade over closest to the door!

Here is a pic of the boys doing what they love the most about summer....Pool time!

Love this photo and just had to share it!
Thomas your Such a cutie and check out the pose....I want to be a super model!

Best Buds....most of the time!

"Harry! Where are you?"

"Mama, where's Harry?"
"Wake up Thomas, come and play!"

"Come on, come on Harry!"

These are words that get yelled around the house every day! The boys really are becoming great little buds that hate being apart. Harry went out with Dave the other day, Thomas was so upset..."where's my Harry?" They just love each others company and are really starting to play games together and work together to get things done. They love playing outside on the play set together or playing out in the dirt, pulling each other around in the wagon or having a splash in the bath together when all the outside dirty fun is over for the day.

Oh I wish it could be this way forever, but they are brothers and heads do butt!
What I find in my garden.....

It's finally starting to warm up outside, the sun is returning.....at LAST! (knock on wood)

And that means getting out in to the always changing garden. The boys are finally getting to play on their swing set and I am finally getting down and dirty with the flowers and the weeds!

Here are some of the things the boys and I came across last week in the garden....

And then there is this......Look at that cutie boy, whooo wooo.....lol!
